Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) refers to a condition causing lasting pain and involving an abnormal response of the nervous system, particularly the sympathetic nervous system. During RSD, your sympathetic nervous system gets mixed signals. It gets activated after an injury but doesn’t turn back off resulting in the occurrence of pain and swelling at the injury site.

Causes – Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy occurs due to bruises, cuts, minor surgeries, burns, brain injuries, fractures, needle sticks, sprains, radiation therapy, etc.
